I have just come back from Game to find BT have finaly pulled their fingers out and fixed the phone line (2 weeks with no phone for crying out loud ), while I was at Game (since I couldn`t follow the game news on the net) I asked if they had the release date for Doom III yet, and the guy said no, BUT they have canceled the X-box version, I did wonder how a dated setup like the Xbox would pull off Doom III, and it looks like it can`t, he also said they have canceled Halfife II for the X-box as well, will these next gen games be so demanding or is this that MS are planning to have them as showcase games for X-Box II??, as far as I know Halflife II wasn`t that demanding systemwise anyway (700mhz and a decent card IIRC), MS masterstroke or poke in the eye for them? comments?

What! Doom 3 canceled for Xbox? You weren´t told this on the first of April were you? Right. Time to get surfing and find out if there is any truth behind this.

makes sense tho. xb2 is coming but not sure how far behind doom3 it will be - then again who know when we will ever see d3 or hl2 on any platform

Honestly I'd like it if Doom3 came late for the Xbox release (or Xbox2, if there will be on either one). It's their turn to be envious right after that Halo thing.

No, 3D0 Interactive were an actual publisher that perhaps didn't make the best business decisions. Their games screamed out "We're just here to make money off popular franchises."

Not to mention EA! I can only think of one non licensed game and that´s suposed to be the biggest selling pc game. Some publishers sure do get it lucky.

3DO wasn't stupid, they just had only one development group that could make good games . NWC's games rocked, everything else they published blew. Now Heroes 5 has gone to Ubi *sigh*.

While we're trashing companies...

I can't believe 989 is still making sports games. I have yet to play a good 989 sports game that is worth my money. That being said, I only buy EA for sports.(And EA BIG for extreme sports )
