When you resize an object using the scale object command does this mean when you get matrix height and set it to sit at this height that half the object will be under the matrix?

Is there a reason why when I resize it does this? and is there a way I can fix it if its normal?

The short answer is no.

But, It all depends on where the origin point of the object is. For many objects, the origin is in the middle. When you scale it, it will expand/shrink in all directions. Many character models are built with the origin point at their feet so that when they scale the model changes height, but does not 'sink' when positioned.

maybe as you say the model items I am using have the origin in the middle..and give the effect of sinking when put up to matrix height.

I guess I'm gonna have to make my own models sooner than I thought.
thanx for the help anyway.
