Newcomers DBPro Corner / Stop sound doesn't work?

I am experiencing an error with my program.

Whenever I try to stop a looping sound it won't. Simple as that. It continues playing indefinetly. I know it isn't working because when I did the exact same thing but with music files it did work. Is there a different command to stop looping sounds than stop sound?

I have another question: Do global variables retain there data across files. I was almost positive they do but that could save me some agony in the long run.

If you still need help try the pause sound command or the deleat sound command.
I found this in the help part of DB (but I have not used these).
