1) Has anyone seen or created a very attractive 'external' terrain that I could either see screenshots of, or preferably move around in from a DBPro program? I just want to see what is possible with DBPro and the only terrains I have found so far are medium or low res/color versions.

2) Has anyone seen or created a pretty dungeon type level in .x or .3ds format (or anything else other than BSP) that I could see screen shots of, or preferably move around in with a DBPro program.

I really like how pretty you can make a .BSP dungeon look, but I wondered if it is possible to make even better looking dungeons in another format. I searched for free 3DS files, I was sure I had seen the inside of a church with some amazing effects from the stained glass windows and lighting, but I could only find .3DS models of objects or buildings from the outside rather than something I can move around the inside of.

I am trying to inspire a couple of guys to assist me in a project, but apart from the (awesome looking) BSP support, the terrain shots are going to scare them off if I show them the crappy ones I made so far. I realise the good stuff takes time, I just want to show them whats possible if we do put some time in.

Any good examples you can point me at?

Thanks,

Hi. I'm making a landscape editor, that will be free and should be out within a couple of weeks. I can just about make 100x100 size landscapes without it getting un-bearably slow. Here is a screenshot...

And here is the link to my post (the screens there are all screwed up cos I got the camera aspect wrong)

It has it's own format and a function to import it into DBPro. It also has a plugin interface that works by exes (so you could write a plugin even if you don't know c++ or whatever). I will supply plugins to export .x files and import heightmaps and stuff (these are being written by Glenn Carter maker of Twilight Editor).

And so on...

Look in the Beta Announcements for Freddix's map editor that looks rather impressive, for dungeon type stuff.

Trying is the first step towards faliure.

That looks really impressive! Great work and thanks for the info, I had missed that thread entirely. I can't wait to see what it looks like in game.

If you want to create dungeon-like levels yourself, you could try DeleD. It should be relatively (depending on if you're a reasonable modeller yourself ) easy to create that type of levels with it.

Use the free 3D modeller DeleD to get skilled in 3d editing! Visit http://www.delgine.com for more info.

Thanks, I will play with DeleD.

Hamish: Would I be right in saying there is not a version of Multiscape which I can currently download which includes a save function? You are just sorting out the final bits then will release a 'final' version with save functionality?
