Two days ago my Windows computer's internet turned off. Just like that. It can't do anything that connects to the internet. Right now I am using a mac, since they can't get viruses. Anyway, I used Norton Antivirus 2003 and it discovered a Trojan Horse virus, and MS.Cache. I tried everything I could to delete them and nothing worked! It says that i do not have the access level to do that even though I am signed on as the System Administrator! The viruses are in my windows folder. The trojan Horse replaced a file called av.exe and i quarentined it. The other three that are MS.Cache are still there under random names. I haven't quarantined those yet. What should i do!? How do I delete them and fix my internet?

(and btw macs can get viruses, they are just not widely written for macs because it's sooooo easy to destroy windows)

If you're interested, Master Chief, you could get a non-windows operating system for your pc (at a lower cost probably).

@ CattleRustler: I can't download updates because my Windows won't connect.
@Shadow : Would my games and DBpro still work w/ a different system?

The most common virus attack is to edit your hosts file to stop you connecting to websites (happened to my boss other day as a matter of fact). Find the hosts file in windows and edit it with notepad. A normal system only lists 127.0.0.1 as localhost but the virus adds loads more that redirect your web browsing to non existent pages. This is done to stop you downloading virus updates. Simply delete the spurious lines.

Boo!

ok, I don't have AIM so I think I'll help you from here
First off, press control alt delete and search for all of the processes running on google. there's a site that tells you what they are and all. Now, first do a search for them. Press control alt delete again, end the process from there and quickly delete them. Now, if it gives you a company, do a search for a few of the letters in it and, if you see anything similiar, delete them. Repete. Hope I helped, please ask if you have problems.

actually you can but there is only about 400 compared to 55000+.

I reccomend you get a program called "hijackthis"
search google
then visit this forum for professional advice.
