I have looked in different thread and over the internet a bunch of times and I want to get a straight answer to this question. What is the best free 3d modeller that supports importing and exporing .X models and animations that a complete beginner could learn? I have Gmax but I can't get any .X models to load into it.Please fell free to comment. Thanks.

"Best" all depends on what you like. Posts like this usually get people responding with their favourite modelling program. I like Milkshape (20 USD) but some free modelers are:
JT Edit
Deled
Milkshape (for 30 days)
Metasequoia LE

Good point. So let me put it this way does any one know of a modeller with the following features?
1.Must be free
2.Must be able to import and export .x models and animations
3.Must be able to use bone animation.
4.Should be easy for beginners to use

Milkshape 3D gets 3 out of 4 at a reasonable price and it is essentially free for 30 days.

Since MS3D is used for many mods as well as game dev, there are a ton of tutorials for it on the web.
