This will do it, but its not free. Milkshape will do it too I think, again its not free but you do get 30 days to try it, I believe and even then its like 15 dollars.

Use 3D Object Convertor from a guy called Zoltan (Google it). It's not free, as far as I know though...

If you have dbc it comes with a converter in the tools file.

if you have at least dbc 1.13 non enhacned
theres a hidden command called 3DSTOX filename,filename
hope it helps

dbc 1.13 non enhanced oh and im 11 didnt know that did ya?

I hope someone can also help with the maya to 3DS or .X conversion because I love using maya and I'm so out of using 3DS Max I cant go back anymore
