I am a fan of FF7 and i work on remake "Hack and Slash style" with character this RPG.

I have create engine and IA enemy.
Now work on the levels

I have uploaded a demo version v.1.0
This version in not complete... it is only test battle ...

The collision with object is not ready.
the jump is not started with matrix

The game run only path c:\FF7-2 (i have zip file with RAR)

The Key List:

[Cursor key] --> move character
[Control key] --> attack sword (repeat press for combo)
[Shift key] --> attack kick (repeat press for combo)
[space key] --> jump
[space key + control] --> jump SLASH
[return key] --> Magic spell list
[W key] --> move cursor spell on up
[S key] --> move cursor spell down
[shift key on magic spell list] --> select magic (press hold on for charge a magic and release for lounch magic]

For more enemy add parameters on executable files
example:
10 enemy
[C:\FF7-2\FFVII_Battle.EXE 10]

Wow Nice demo! This is awesome man! The animation! The music! That is cool! The only problem is that the walking is a little slow(add run button?) and a little difficult to control.

but all in all this is some great stuff

I agree that the player moves too slow.

also the left and right buttons are backwards!

very nice.

but I hope you will change so that you can launch the game from a different path.. the 'c:\ff7-2' is quite annoying.
becouse I have all my games on my hdd 'E:\' and all my windows files on the hdd 'c:\'. so please fix it for the next demo release I must try that too!!

I work from different file path on next demo.

the code is make on many files.
for example:
I have create for enemy a file named c_frogger.dba
in this file all function IA enemy ,movement, animation.

WOW! I'm trying to make a game like yours but my own made character. What kind of elements do you use. For example: Player HP, Player MP, Player Defense.l Do you use evasion to dodge or luck to deal critical hits. If you use these, how do you calculate it. I'm sorry for many questions but your screenshots inspire me to do the same as you.

I calculate the hit point with a simple function.
I split the attack in 3 parts for enemy and for character.

light attack
Medium attack
Hard attack

I calculate the hit point with a level character.

This function calculate the hit:

What I'm asking is if you have defense or evasion or luck. like for example using a different kind of attack would this work.My enemys might now have the luck feature.

Let me let you know this is a quick semi program I thought of this as I wrote it. I know the collison will not work but this is a pretty good version I think to use evasion or luck and defense

The Luck would be
if enemy collides with character while attack then
RND (CharacterLCK#)
If 1-8 then
CharacterHP#=CharacterHP#-(EnemyATK#-RND(CharacterDEF#))

I tried out the demo, it was really good. But you should make the character move faster, and a health bar for the frogs. Overall, it was really good!

I couldn't agree more, it really shows a talent for modelling. Have you got any plans to include a few more of the original FF7 crew like Barret, Cid or Tifa or are you concentrating on getting Cloud and Sephiroth just right?

Ive got to agree, thats pretty damn cool
Animations are fantastic and gameplay seems to be coming along

excuse me for bad English

For beat Ragnor no use magic spell because if ragnor is near the magic damage cloud too.

If Ragnor is not near attack with magic spell thunder max charge
DO you attack with sword attack and jump attack.
If Ragnor attack with twist attack you run opposite site and attack with magic spell.

The Boss have 150 hp if you beat this then you view sequence of Sephiroth...
