Heres a model I worked up for the game my team is working on. He's a bit high poly, and I have a deep fear that he'll jump over 1000 with his gun, but I should be able to kill some unnecisary polys.
Anyway:

And here's the final concept for him I drew:

I'll have the textured model and all that fun stuff once I get him unwraped and our texturer has a chance to make one. Any crits?

WOW, i cant wait to see some textures. And 1000 polys is not too much. I think the level of detail is representative of any quality game.

I can see a few spots where the background is showing through. A little attention to detail in those areas would be good. Perhaps turning some polys and double facing others. Don't double face the whole model, that would be a waste.

Otherwise, pretty good stuff.

zircher- i don't think thats a problem actually- I saw those gaps but this guy will be far away on the screen (by which i mean top down veiw) and I'm going for as few polys a possiable. I'll see what I can do though- he does look a bit sloppy in those areas.

He's pretty good, if a little dark!

One thing I would say, though, is perhaps take a few more details from your sketch to liven him up a bit, like the little arrows on his legs or the writing on his chest and helmet.

Also, adding some scratches to the edges of the armour would go a long way towards breaking up the camoflague pattern and highlighting the angles of the armour, as well as making it look more metallic. If you're a bit lost with where to start, I can try to explain how I make my shoddy-looking scratches!

Otherwise, the model itself's very good!

Actually, we were having trouble with scratches. Any help you could give us in that area would be greatly apreciated. I'd tell you to e-mail me, but I haven't checked my e-mail in about, uh... months. So just post it here.

And the skin isn't done either, but I suppose that's obvious.

Thanks!
