My objects are exported from 3D Canvas.
At one point they did load, and now they don't.
So I know 3D Canvas can export objects that DBPro likes.

Anyone have a workaround....

Paths are correct, if I export .3ds format it will load, it just takes a long long time. (5 mins on my 1.8gig machine)

.x is faster when it works.

some possible problems

the models texture uv data is not all applied and causes some x files to not load in DBP.

the DBP project file needs to be remade so the pathways are correct again.

spelling mistakes with path and filenames.

assuming your using DBP

Yup dbpro.
The pathnames are correct and in the same directory I have a file by the same name but a .3ds file. It loads in my program id I change the extension in the program.

Now this .x did load at some point. But stopped.

I've seen other posts about this. But no real reason why the 7018 error.

Sure, it's ok for the parser to fail loading a file if its format is somehow different than expected, but maybe in this next patch the DarkBasic folks can come up with a better answer than 7018.

How about file not found, or file format bad: here's why blah blah...

So now I'm stuck. I have no way to load this level.
If anyone has seen dbpro do this, and knows the reason why, and what I can do to fix this problem... it will keep my project going...

Otherwise, Im stuck. I have no cluse why the .x is no longer loading. I just keep plugging away and trying different things.

Thanks.

You must triangulate every object. 5.2 has a nasty bug that stops it from being able to load anything with more than 3 sides per face. the triabgulate function is only available on 3D Canvas Plus/Pro

Materialize 3D is really good about analyzing (non-animated) .X files and reporting/fixing the errors. If nothing else, feel free to zip up the file to me and I'll run some tests on it.
