What is the latest version of DARK BASIC? I've seen 3 diff. retail boxs. One with a green creature on the front, another with 5 brown creatures on the front , and another with a yellow pyramid on the front.

I would assume as long as it is db pro, you can upgrade it from this site to the latest version which is 5.3 (or 5.2)

how's that for clarity

It's not Pro...I want to start out with a basic version first.

They're probably all the same program (DarkBASIC Classic), just in different regional boxes.

Cheers,

do yourself a favor and go with pro from the outset.

As a newbie, wouldn't Pro be too much. I thought it would be better to start out with classic and then move to pro??? What are your thoughts?

classic is outdated and clunky, and no longer supported. Pro is continually being updated and is way more robust in features and speed. Conceptually dbc and pro are the same as far as what you will need to learn. Go with pro and thank me later

Sounds like good advice. Thanks!
