Newcomers DBPro Corner / Setting pic backround to transparent?

hi, i loaded a bmp of a small character to the screen where there is a pink backround surrounding him. How do i set that backround to transparent? Any ideas

By default, black (RGB 0,0,0) is the transparent colour so it's best to have all your sprite images with black backgrounds on them.

You can also use the set color key command or you can use PNGs with the transparency bit turned on.
