That's a good model just one comment...is the slope of that roof like that becuase it's a oriental building? Becuase it looks a little odd...but besides that, i like it!

well yes that was the plan to make it look like a house from japan or somthing like that maby i failed badly on the roof .

i guess the polycount is way to high but i dont know what DB can handle

this is 3200 polys/faces

its a nice mesh but rather high poly dont ya think, are those wooden pannels in the doors/walla extra polys?, if so i would make them a texture

actually looking on the left side i can see they have shading on and there slightly extruded from the rest so my advise is to make the walls a box and texture them with the wood/paper texture

Dark Coder i did think of that but again i dident know what the DB can do so in new games 3k polys is nothing when a scene can be 70-80k polys

but i will work on that so i textur those thx for the advice.

i think that the poly count is not too bad considering that this building could be a main focus of a scene. I wish i had the ability to program a decent fighting game because this building would be perfect. I didnt look at the model yet but if the window material is just a large square instead of several smaller squares that cuts polys down a lot without any quality loss. I think the only change i would make is adding some thickness to the roof and trying to line the roof texture up a little better along the edge. But great model none the less.

Are you from Japan?

Are the textures you used free by any chance? I'd love to recreate this model in DeleD, just to see if I could do that. Also, it's a very nice model to try lighting routines on (something we're about to start building into DeleD). If they're free, could I have them? Would be great!

wbarrett 26 : no im not from japan im from the cold Denmark in scandinavia so i dont have a clue what a dojo look like this is just a wild shot.

I will work on cut down the poly count and fix the roof
i think i need to tile the roof textur some more that will make it look better.

if i get the poly count down i will work on making the dojo a part of a bigger training area maby with a curtyard in the middle for outdoor training i dont know

about the textur then yes you can use it as you like this is free for all i just use this model to practis so i maby one day can make stuff for a game one of you guys can code

there is a link under the pictur to a zip file that contain the .3ds file and textur.

the lighting is great. Some of the best I've seen. How did you do that?

@matic that may be true but that doesnt give an excuse to have excessive polycounts for such a basic model, you would expect a character to have around 3000 polys, also the lower you keep your polys the faster it will run and the more people will be able to run your game

Matic, i've downloaded the textures+model, thanks for sharing. If i have my way, a simular model will be created in DeleD. I'll put a screenshot on my site when done.
