Was a bit concerned about Thunderbirds, the first trailers looked poor. this looks more like it.

I dunno, it actually kinda looks alright.
It obviously isn't like an adult aimed film though; very much for the younger generation.

This said no phoney american accents, no puppet strings, no OTT explosions every 12 seconds.
I dunno just doesn't seem like thunderbirds to me.

Actually, it does look lame now. I quickly watched it with the sound down, and the Snooker on the telly, and it looked good. Then I watched it again later, and it looks like a childrens program.

The the producer has gone in the wrong direction. He should have aimed for a mature audience.

It's FOR children, aimed at the same target audience as SpyKids, leave it alone.

But most kids wont know what a Thunderbird is, let alone count backwards from 5.

Personally though, Thunderbirds already had a structure, but Spy Kids was completely invented. It is wrong to change the structure of a Gerry Anderson production which might be an insult to him. He personally was never given the chance to make a Movie like this. I don't think he made the puppets as young people, they looked about 30-40 years old. I see the movie as an insult, and I see the name Thunderbirds as a multi-million pound giveaway, and to use that name, and plot it with a useless story shows lack of imagination. When the average person could come up with a better story than this, it is an insult to us all.

If I remember correctly - Jeff's sons were in the mid to late 20's. I'll have a look in my Thunderbirds annual sometime (which I hope to flog for lots of money when the film comes out).

I'd go for..

Freddie Prinze Jnr
Matt LeBlanc
Hugh Jackman (Wolverine)
Brendan Fraser (The Mummy)

Jim Carrey as Brains
Maybe Patrick Stewart as Jeff Tracy

Lady Penelope....Tara Palmer-Tomkinson
Jonny Depp as Parker

Saw Thunderbirds tonight - wasn't too bad (not Frake's better films though) though - the kids were annoying and they really ruined the title music. I have complained to Universal about that...

The other problem is Ford's product placement - it was everywhere... The in-film news was sponsored by Ford and it was well displayed on the cars. That was annoying - it would have been slightly better if it had been Rolls-Royce...

jesus this topic is old...
the film was to me like a typical american sell-out, of a cult british classic.
having real americans in the film, just seemed wrong... but on the bright side atleast Jerry Anderson would've been happy with the number and size of those explosions.

Although we all know with a hollywood budget he would've made them nuclear hollocaust style

She did have a boat (for one episode - which Parker apparently gambled away), and a horse.

Its a Ford now...

See the film or the TV series.

I have no intention of seeing it - Thunderbirds was always destined to be a more mature movie, they've hung it out to dry with the rest of the kiddie crap we get these days.

I mean, for a start the cast should have been adult and should have been British. We've got folk like Gary Oldman just waiting for a role as a Thunderbird baddie. Has anyone heard the theme tune! - ''Hidden weapons underground, hold on a mo - what's that sound, ohh my god a scary clown'' by Basted or some teeny-band. My official noise for the Thunderbirds movie is 'Pfffft'.

Don't get me started on what they've done to Garfield...
