An antiques roadshow perhaps?

There's honestly no reason to get the first or second version of photoshop. I use to have version two, and believe it isn't really worth your time. You could probably get a good deal for a more modern version on ebay.....

Yep but its not good to buy software off ebay, the liscensing still goes to them. Youll notice that the used versions are all incredibly cheap (doesnt include licensing) and the new boxed versions are still very expensive.

I say go for Paintshop Pro 7, cost me 80 dollars, worth every penny. Its a great tool, I can do everything in it that I could do with Photoshop.

I don't really like PSP 7. I suppose it's OK, but not as good as Corel Draw 8. Photoshop is best.

Photoshop 7 Upwards
Corel Draw 8
Paint Shop Pro 7

There are others like Real Draw that fit in there somewhere.

Trust me the GIMP is the BEST. Free and just as good as PhotoShop.

I can get PhotoShop CS ( PhotoShop 8 ) for AUD$350... it's the Academic version, but since I'm at school, and will be "schooling" for many years to come, it's quite good

Also, another GREAT drawing program is Fireworks made by Macromedia.
Fireworks is much the same as PhotoShop, but has certain features here and there etc that Photoshop doesn't...

Jess.

If you want something free, SodiPodi is good, depending on what you're trying to do.

@Cookyzue: Your sig doesn't let me read your posts. The flashing and moving and stuff attracts too much attention.

If you are a student at a school or college goto http://pw.academicsuperstore.com , this place has loads of dicounted products (including Photoshop CS, this program runs for over $650, but here it costs I think right around $300) all you need to do is prove that you are in shcool with ID's, report cards, or just anything like that.
