Hi all,

Whenever I export a terrain from Bryce 5, I get very bad quality texture when I recombine the landscape model and texture in DBPro or Cartography Shop. The model itself is fine, it's the texture that ruins it all. Even with the texture export settings at 4096x4096 JPG max quality, I still get bad textures and it makes the model look awful. Basically I want to know if there is a method or workaround that will help retain a good looking model + texture.

I remember a while back there was a post about Bryce 5, and someone posted they had a program that was able to convert a Bryce Model into almost any other format, if anyone knows if its true and or where to find it, that would be greatly appreciated.

I'll try to upload some screenshots to further explain my problem sometime soon.

Thanks.

I've had some success with Bryce terrains..The larger the texture is the better but there are some free ones available on the net which you can import as presets and use. These have a more refined look than the standard Bryce ones.

Thanks for the reply gbuilder,

I had a look at some converting programs like deep exploration, yet i still can't get the texture quality to improve

Here are some screenshots of the model, 1st is in Bryce, 2nd is in Cartography shop

I'm still looking for a program that can import Bryce models directly, but at this rate I'll probably switch to Geoscape.

AMD 1.2Ghz, 320MB Ram, ATI Radeon 9200 256MB DDR.

Yeah, Geoscape could be an ok program.
I import 3ds landscapes made in Bryce5 into Milkshape, apply the texture then export as a .x file for DBPRO. I scale in Milkshape before exporting rather than in DBPRO, this is so that my collision code works...
