You can now select who you want to play the game as in the options menu, although who you chose will affect the in-game experience as each character has different abilities:

Any ideas on what these characters should be called?

Geocities does not allow hotlinking of images, like the majority of free webhosts. Choose a better host if you want to link to images.

That's really great! It would look a lot better with shadows. Maybe you could pre-render the shadows onto the ground. Or maybe you could use plains as shadows.

I see you are using DarkMatter2 models, so am I in my forthcoming Death-bed game, I wonder if anyone will notice the same characters appearing in different games?! It could be funny like cameo appearances on TV I was thinking of re-texturing and animating the models though so it won't be too blatant.

It looks like you've got some great direction and atmosphere here, nice work! I love horror/suspense/adventure games, and it looks as if you're on the way to making a very good one, the settings are nicely varied.

Suggestions:
1. Add a texture to the rain particles, just a smoothed line, they'll look more realistic.
2. Add a fake shadow to the bottom of the buildings and the floor when they touch it, just a simple faded black area to the existing texture would do. This will make the edges less noticable and it'll look more realistic.
3. For objects without a proper shadow, put a ghosted plain beneath them with a dark circle for a fke shadow. This will look great, especially under the street lights and barrel.
4. If you notice framerates dipping or want to improve them, a lot of those particle effects could be replaced by 2poly plains textured with particle animations from Ex-Gen, rotated to face the camera. This would give and almost identical, and sometime nicer, effect.

This is looking to have a lot of potential. If you could complete this, it'd be great! Keep working at it you're doing well

P.S. the reason i want you to post over there is becuase i don't want to hijack this great thread

This game has a really mysterious feel to it, and it's very cool. Graphically this game seems to be ahead of most DB/DBP games found in the showcase.

Very nice, and I like it.
(I also agree to keep the shadows for the main characters.)

i like tha game... but, I reccomend you do this. go into you models and anywhere you can add just a little bit of detail do it. Most modern day computers should be able to handle the extra polys and the effect it add will help the game a lot

Well it looks great. You could still have shadows for the buildings if you pre-render them. There is no slowdown for pre-rendered shadows. Just paint them on the ground.

Here are the items which are hidden around the Village. Ammo and Health are obvious, but the evidence is part of your mission, there are a total of 15 evidence packs, collecting the Ninth will reveal the centre to the village, the other six can be found in the village centre. To obtain one of these items you simply need to walk your character into it.

wow!! looking amazing!!

if you want even more realistic background shadows, have a look at lightmapping through a program like CShop or Gile[s] (my personal favotire). it'll make you're game look even more atmospheric and impressive (not that it doesn't already!)
