I'm sorry to do this to ya man, so I'll answer your question before you procede.
If you check out the system requirements page it runs on Windows95/98/200/XP.
However, 3d Gamemaker is severely limited to action games with lower quality models. The controls will always remain the same, they may as well call this
"3d Action Game Maker that Allows you to make Shooters and Racers with shooting But Really Only Lets you Edit the Intro Screen, Basic sound/music, and what the levels and guns LOOK Like".
Sorry to hit hard. But if you are seriously wanting to get into game development you should use DarkBasic. It will help you become familiar with the general game creation process and opens infinitely more possibilities than 3d Gamemaker. Also, I see on your site that you use Linux, and there are a few people here that have used Wine to get DarkBasic to run on their Linux system. You'll have to search, but it's definitely possible.
