Hi,

I'm thinking of using ExGen to create some explosion animations for some 2d I'm working on - any users of the software here? Or does anyone know of any alternatives that would create similar results?

Cheers!

I bought ex-gen a few weeks ago. Just got the new update today. So far it's pretty good. If it keeps growing like I think it will, it will be an even more powerful tool than it already is.

PC Specs: AMD 1800+ 512M DDR, Radeon 128meg DDR - DB v1.13

To DB or not to DB............duh DB!

I have a lot of problems with Exgen, sometimes it won't create the separate images of the animations that i create.

@the desktops - have you told TGC about your issue, and if so, have they helped?

Cheers,

The Desktops - explain fully. There is an exGen forum (http://binarysun.proboards23.com/index.cgi) and a contact form (http://www.binarysun.co.uk/support/support_3.htm) on the binarysun website so you can email me if there are any problems.

If you don't tell people about problems they won't get fixed.

There was a bug with exporting seperate images which has been fixed. If you tried the demo a while ago then try it again and see if it has been fixed.

Hopefully it will - If you got the update then you will have seen the screenshots for the next version (http://binarysun.proboards23.com/index.cgi?board=exgen&action=display&num=1084227242&start=0). Once this is released the updates should be a lot bigger.

Lampton - Have you tried the demo? There are two modes, a demo mode and Lite mode. The demo mode lets you test all the features but you can't export anything. The lite mode gives you limited features but you can export what you create.

trying it yourself is the only way to know if it is good enough That said I haven't had any complaints yet - and I am intending to release lots of updates. My todo list currently stands at 35 items - got to sort out the new gui first though.

For anyone who is interested here is the changelog since ExGen was released

The Desktop - Note the bold bug fix at the bottom of the list.

Hi,

I meant to say, I grabbed the demo and gave it a quick try - tis cool! Came up with some trippy effects, I like it. I'll see if I can use it in my current project.

Cheers.
