Last evening I was thinking...DB is not really the best language to write 2d games with...right?
What do you think?
Cheers!

Yeah, you can, but my 2d games with lots of sprites (more than 15) run very slow and the collision detection gets really weird...dunno maybe my problem.
Cheers!

No, sprites aren't slow - dealing with images is slow.

In dbc sprites are slow, just 3d planes instead and get a massive speed increase or use dbpro.

In DBPro sprites are just 3D plains - in DB 'Classic' they are, I believe proper sprites (at least not 3D objects).

If you're looking for a game making package but are wanting to make 2d games, don't shy away from DarkBasic! Just use the techniques mentioned above, or get DBPro and all will run nice and smoothly.

dont forget if you use 3d plains to simulate 2d images you can deploy all the 3d related features and commands.

it also helps to make the z dimension problems easier when overlapping sprites are counted.

Well, suppose I'll change my 22 sprites to 22 3d plains .
Thanks for the advice
