I'm very curious about how many people use DB or DBP, can someone make an estimation or something? and how many forum users are there?

I'm wondering if I should do video tutorials as it is easier than writing them I believe... will cost a lot more bandwith tho

4 and a half (you have to allow for when ppl sleep, work, go to school, socialise etc and for my extreme lack of being able to count to eleventy billion)

I have no problem counting to eleventy billion. Unfortuantly I will be doing nothing else for the next 27 years while I accomplish this task.

Heh, reminds me of a program I saw the other day, where this bloke said to someone that he reckoned he could surf every day for 30 years. And thats what he did, even though it impacted massively on his life. Hmmmmm....

Cheers

Forum users has very little to do with it actually. There's no real way to estimate what quantity of Darkbasic users often use the Internet, or the forums, or how many are idlers, and since the forum is open to the public a great deal of people here either haven't bought DB/DBP or just don't use it much.

The most effective way might to be to compare DarkBASIC sales to DarkBASIC Pro pre-orders, before the big advertizing started-- that way you've got an estimation of how many users stick around in the community-- and then compare it with the expotentialy growing DBP sales as a percentile... might be something close to accurate.

Well the calculation goes like this......

People have 2.4 children.....
when reaching average age 13.. 1 in 100 boys want to make games.
There are currently 5 major languages to try....

so

population of world / parents / male / average age of death / 13 / major languages.........

= 4196.4

cmc 101 is probably the .4

Pincho.

According to my calculations it'd take quite a bit longer than 27 years to count to 11,000,000,000...
I estimated that it'd take about 4 seconds to count to 10(I counted at a moderatly slow speed), so about .06 minutes to count to 10. So how long would it take to count to 11 Billion? (I'm not sure if I did my math right, I'm no math wizz)
Task Accomplished In:
3960000000 Seconds
or
66000000 Minutes
or
1100000 Hours
or
45833 Days
or
125 Years

It takes longer to count through 10 numbers if they're larger numbers though. For example:

One
Two
Three

Wouldn't take the same time as:

Three Million, Five Hundred and Eighty Seven Thousand, Two Hundred and One
Three Million, Five Hundred and Eighty Seven Thousand, Two Hundred and Two
Three Million, Five Hundred and Eighty Seven Thousand, Two Hundred and Three

Well, it would take about 125 years to count to 11 Billion, nonstop, no sleep, counting at a steady moderate speed, and taking into account that you just say Next Number
