Is there a way to tell max to load a textured 3d model with all the textuers. I always have to apply the textures every time I save and reload the model with the material editor.

Ok Here a better explanation (I think) Lets say I make a 3d object and save it and its textures to a 3ds file. If I close Max and open it again with the object, I get a white object, with no materials in the material editor to retexture the object. Is there a way to get max to load with textures along with the model? I now the textures are there cause I loaded my object into milkshape3d and the model load with all the textures.

Dont save as .3ds save as .max, as far as i was aware .3ds did not support textures, so now im confused as to how they loaded up in Milkshape

I'm makin' a cake...
