Since I was busy at work, my old model thread (http://www.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&b=3&t=28579&p=0) died of old age. Anyway, here is a new character model. These are the scary twins. Don't give them sweeties, they'll take your arm off.

For example, in Total Annihilation the average unit count was 35-50 polygons. When you place 200+ units on the map you're pushing 7,000 to 10,000 polygons.

that's why Age of Empires(and most other "birds eye view" strategy games...) use 2D animations instead of 3D models(they can make it look sreally detailed when it's not)......becuase when you get hundreds of "low" polygon models...it adds up

for instance i bought Civ3(GREAT game) and i thought the game was 3D! until my freind loaded the aniations into his 2D animation thingymabob(forgot name )...

In the recent Age of games ( Mythology and Titans) They have written their own 3d engine to handle the 3d objects in the games. No 2d people there. They are very low poly but there is an option to vew the high poly versions in cinematics etc.

Just some infomation there
