Hey everyone

I'm posting a CLIP of my newest track entitled "Post Apocalyptic." It's an electronic/industrial/orchestral song for a new project. I was trying to emphasize the anarchy that takes place in the dark ruins of a futuristic city after a nuclear apocalypse. It's sorta a mix of John Carpenter's style with my own.

Check it out and comment please! ...All C&C welcome as always.

Enjoy

The intro instrument (I think its some sort of clav) could be "Lighter"

I suggest using a bell piano or something to that degree.

But other then that, outstanding!

(I bet you can't wait to get that FX8 though )

Thanks

Actually the intro instrument is just a synth patch, I was going for that early 80's John Carpenter sound.

And no I can't wait for the X8

Nice mate. Original notation is a bit cliche, but when the heavier brass drops in, it's all sweet. Nice effective combination of orchestral elements and synthesisers, and breaks. Very military.

Signature? No! Obsolete! These days it's all about chip and pin!

That's pretty good, very atmospheric. I'm thinking of using this sort of music for a game I'm making and just wanted to ask a question, it'll probbaly sound really noobie but here goes. Can music like this be made just with a computer program or do you need actual instruments to do all the different parts of it then just use the computer to put them all togethr.

I SHOULDN'T BE POSTING THIS, I SHOULD BE WORKING ON SOLO, SO PLEASE IGNORE IT.

Thanks Code2kill

as for your question -- well, yes and no really. It can be made on the computer(because I did make it on my comp lol) but not with just one program, and quite frankly, it's very expensive to write this kind of music(I gave up getting a car just to get some of my equipment.) The programs I used to make this song are Steinberg Cubase SX for sequencing and mixing, and Native Instruments' Kontakt for my instrument samples. For the synth samples I just used the a1-synth module that comes with Cubase SX. The sample libraries I used within Kontakt are:

Sonic Implants Symphonic Strings
http://www.sonicimplants.com/premiumstrings.asp

Escape from the Planet of the Breaks(ran through a beat slicer)
http://www.soundsonline.com/sophtml/details.phtml?sku=TASCD-108G

The brass is from a very rare sample collection that not many people have lol(about 6 people have it including myself.) But I highly reccomend the Project SAM libraries for brass(I use them as well)

Thanks for the comments on my Duo music

Did you copy and paste the link in the top post or CattleRustler's? The one in the top post should work.

As for your question -- I'd be glad to do some music for your game but I have one major rule:

A guarantee that the game will be finished, or at LEAST make it to a demo stage so I know that my work will actually be used. I've made a lot of music for games over the past couple years and only like 5 of the projects ever made it to a demo and Duo is the only completed project. So you can see why I have this rule

You can email me with the game info at AaronGRC@hotmail.com

Thanks
