Hi!

Yeah, you know, a live IRC channel for DB, I tried with the link here in TGC but hardly anyone answer and there's few people there, so I'm wondering if there's a new DB chat and I haven't noticed it or there's no DB chat available? You know, I wanna share my experiences, code and just have a fun time with all of you guys, in "realtime". It's that possible?

BTW I use mIRC

Only through the current channel, there's no new one. It's always been ForeverChat and it still is.

that sounds about right.
the chat room is pretty lame, and only fills up during forum slow downs (web site problems, etc). Even when the chat is full, it's just a bunch of teenaged boys "witty banter" -

I usually just pop in to verify that TGC site is messed up and then split. If people actually discussed programming or dbp in there I would tend to stay but that doesn't happen.

Any of you having the bright idea to flame at me right now because it sounds like I am bashing your little "club house"...bugger off!

Programming chat sometimes happens, but usually when there are less people there. If there are 20 people there it's usually passing stupid links around, porn or trivia.... not that I find anything wrong with any of that .

Lagmaster kicks anyone passing pron links around -- actually it's far more often computer discussion of some sort. I've helped put a stop to the trivia to some extent. It's Raven and O_o talking about video cards quite a bit, or discussion about games or hardware. Pretty nice place once you get to know it.

I'm far from miserable. Just making a point. I don't know how old you are but I have had my share of "chat room antics". That's all.

Lately we've been having a lot more people in the channel, we're averaging 20+ people around at the 1 time at night at the moment. Depending on who's around, your questions will (hopefully) be answered.
And trivia's on the decline now, most people are quite sick of it I believe

To be honest, I joined that chat room 6 months ago and it was very nice, I created this thread 'cause lately there have been too few people there, but it's increasing! . BTW yeah, I liked trivia too

BTW Mx7 and Hell_Monkey helped me a bit there yesterday, so I'm happy

I have been hanging out in the chat room lately, I must admit.

(yes, completely contradicts my prior posts above. Oh well, they sucked me in)

cos tis a proxy server thin or something. I'm not sure how its actually implemented but I canno get rid of it because i'm not allowed. Its free internet from the education department (my dad is a teacher) and for some reason they don't want teachers having any fun.
