I have trouble with Gile[s].When coplanars walls meet there is a bad lighting in their sharps corners after rendering. That's a ugly effect. I don't understand why , because in cartography shop there is not this trouble...

I've found that different model scales may move the shadow out of line...[try enlarging or reeducing the model? Or increase the lightmap size?]

Thanks for helping me. I've tried to use recalculate normals in
Gile[s] tools option and it had improved a lot the lighting (but remains a little default..)
I haven't mentioned that I make my levels in Cartography Shop then export it (.x) to gile[s] then export to .dbo (for less polygons...)

upload an image to some webspace and then use the little image buttons at the top of the post. Push it once, type the URL, then push it again.

Thanks I learn things all the time here! Ok I hope it will work...
So can you see the ugly sharps around the window? it's because the wall is separated in 4 parts (left, right up and down the window):

Increase the lightmap resolution. That should sort it out. Basically your lumels (lightmap pixels) are massive. It wouldn't surprise me if that middle section of wall had a single pixel on it.

also remember lighting is also affected by object normals. your boxes are probably "smoothed", meaning the edge normals aren't perpendicular to the faces. this will make that gradient you see at the edge.

in your modelling program, try to "unweld" to vertices... I think you can also do that from within Gile[s] with the "recalculate normals" command.

Walaber: I recalculate the normals in Giles and it seems to work. Congratulations for your game of snowballs fighting. I've purchased Giles after seeing the results you get in your game, so I'm happy that you help me. Thanx man!
