Mike Johnson has kindly agreed to join the darkbasic irc channel tonight (May 25th) at 8pm GMT for questions regarding DBPRO and the plugins. This however will not be a flaming session, we are going to be using for the first time some kind of question queueing technology.
For those who do not know, to get on to the irc channel you need to join irc.foreverchat.net and then type
/JOIN #darkbasic

Details of how the question queueing system will work, will be displayed here in a few hours time(once we finish it!)

Visit the Db chat room, ask me for details!.

Before that time we'll also post up a list of rules for that time, last night it was just chaotic. If you dont abide by the rules, you will be kicked or banned.

You descriminated against me though, I specifically asked for the QA time to be moved forward 7 hours so it wouldn't disrupt my sleeping patterns but apparently that was too 'difficult'.

The entire channel will be muted, and there's going to be a way to ask questions to a script which is being worked on, to avoid the total chaos we had last time.

Indeed, only operators will be able to talk, so everybody will be able to listen to Mike answer the questions that have been put to him. You will still be able to ask questions however, and there will be a special method of doing this (to be explained later), and Mike will try his best to answer them.

You wont be able to, the channel will be muted, and only mike will be able to talk. You can still add questions to the queue however, and they will at some point come to Mike.

RichS, you get an irc client, like mirc or xchat. Then via a menu you can connect to irc.foreverchat.net, and join the channel #darkbasic

you dont need to register.
but if you want to, type this:

"/msg nickserv register passwordhere e.mail@here.com"

you'll get an email with a confirm code. type that in.

then everytime you login you have to identify
"/msg nickserv identify passwordhere"

fairly straight forward

.

Here is how to ask your questions to Mike

At 8pm the question system will be activated and you will not be able to speak in #darkbasic, however you can add your question to the list by typing

/notice lagmast3r !question <Your question here>

Mike will be able to speak in the channel, so if you have anything to say to Mike or want to hear what others say then be there tonight.

Note, anybody asking silly or inappropriate questions will be kicked and maybe banned.
