Tile Studio can be used to make tile based games. Learn more about it here: http://tilestudio.sourceforge.net/. I made a definition file that allows it to be used with DBpro. Let me know if anyone is interested and I'll post the file along with the example program.

Yes, I am interested in the definition for Tile Studio! Actually, I think it is a hot topic that should be stickied.

Ok. I'll post it when I get home. I guess I'll post it to the codebase with a link in this thread.

Edit: Here is a link to the example in the code base:

The DBpro TSD file and example are housed at
http://tilestudio.sourceforge.net

Here's the fun part, you can use the TSD file (also attached to this message) and Tile Studio to automatically generate the code in the file DBp_TileStudio_include.dba.
Here is what you do:
1. Erase or rename the DBp_TileStudio_include.dba file that was extracted from dbpro_ScrollDemo.zip.
2. Download Tile Studio from http://tilestudio.sourceforge.net/
3. Put dbpro_v1_052.tsd (from dbpro_ScrollDemo.zip) in with the other TSD files in the Tile Studio folder
4. Start up Tile Studio and load ScrollDemo.tsp (from dbpro_ScrollDemo.zip )
5. Select Code | Code Generation Settings and choose "dbpro_v1_052"
6. Select Code | Select Output Directory and choose the folder where you extracted dbpro_ScrollDemo.zip into.
7. Select Code | Generate Code
8. That should have recreated the DBp_TileStudio_include.dba file.

Then you can recompile it all in DBpro. Play around by changing the example tile map and then generating code for it. Can someone try this and let me know if it doesn't work? BTW, it is untested with DBC.

I'll give it a test run later when I get the files sorted out on my new harddrive.

I updated the the Tile Studio example to enable transparency. I did this by converting the BMPs to PNGs. You'll have to change the code to load the png instead of the bmp (instructions are included).

Can anyone tell me why the original code using
Set Image Colorkey 255, 0, 255
doesn't make the water transparent when using BMPs?

Check to see if any files are set to read only. If any are, they may need to be changed to to allow reading and writing.

Ok - the DBpro library for Tile Studio has been posted on the Tile Studio website. Here are a couple links to it:
