I'm making my best guess as to where this would be a good place to post.

If there are any guys out there looking to pursue game development as a career then you may want to consider going to: http://www.igda.org/chapters/ and seeing if you can find some info in your local area. I just went to a chapter meeting in Phoenix at UAT and it was great. IGDA just released a paper on the quality of life for game developers so the discussion was focused on how the structure/design/management could be improved to not only keep people in the industry longer but to also improve productivity. I learned some interesting stuff, and thought it would be nice to share this knowledge source via the newcomer's forum.
