Hey everyone Im starting to programm in C++ and I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to buy C++. I went to amazon and they have like 20 different ones. What one would I want Im wanting to make game of course and sell'em all so how do you get Direct X so you can programm with it.

You need to buy a compiler...

I suggest Visual Studio C++ 6.0.

You can Download Direct X 9.0 SDK for free from the microsoft website.

The language in concept is free; public domain I believe. You can get a free compiler, such as DevC++, or buy a commercial one. Your choise.

Oh dear. Get yourself the DirectX SDK and Visual C++ or DevC++ - oh and get yourself a tonne of books too, sounds like you'll need them!

My brother kinda cleared it up for me a little so I see what ima do. Im just going to highschool so I dont have to many jobs but ill buy Visual Studio and yes im going to buy A LOT OF BOOKS this summer!
