Hey...

Guess what..?
I rolled my ankle

I was out skateboarding with 3 mates tonight up at Newcastle ( about 45mins north of where I live [ Eastern Coast of Australia, not enlgand ] ), and just yesterday I had gotten a new deck, and greased up my ballbearings so that I could try to start fresh... And it worked

My new deck ( and grip tape ) is much better than my old one, and I find it so much easier to do tricks. So I went all-out. I just tried some stuff I hadn't done before ( I'm not too good to start with, so you could see where it was headed, lol ).

I Ollied ( jumped ) down 3 stairs ( felt pretty darn proud )
Then, I tried, many, many times to do a different 4 stair, and each time, I failed...
And, on my last attampt... I rolled my ankle

It's really swollen and stuff, and it hurts like hell

But, I'll live.
Probably be up and skating again in no time at all

Just my little story for the week

Jess.

Owww! - feel better mate.

I know all about ankle injuries - they're so damn easy to break or sprain - I've knackered my ankle about 10 times and it never get's any less painful!.

Ouch, that can't be fun. I've never rolled an ankle skating, but its a bit dodgy at the moment(all this jumping in athletics, i land to hard on my take-off foot) Personal stair jumping record is 5, and i (kick)flipped 2

Dont worry man, Ive screwed up 3/4 sets plenty of times. And rolling an ankle is so annoying, because it takes forever to get fully feeling normal.

lol, thanks for the concern fella's

Actually, thismorning, my ankle has swollen more, and I can barely put wait on it. So I'm iceing it, strapping it, and rasing it... Great fun. At the moment, my foot is just next to my monitor ( leg up on the desk so that it's rased ).

Really, really sore.

But, I'll be right

Cripled,
Jess.

[EDIT]
lol, thanks for making me feel more confident kenmo

Ouch... I've had my fair share of injuries also...lol
I've hit myself in the face while trying to do a pop shove-it...
I've fallen off a (15 foot) cliff on my mountainboard...
Bailed painfully countless times while learning to drop in from a quarter pipe...
And many many splits...

Well... Get well soon... To reduce swelling... use Ice for 30 minutes and then Heat for 30 min... and continue, (Works like a charm )

Programming isn’t an addiction, its more of a mental and social dependancy.

Ouch...
I tried a Pop-Shovet last night for the first time also. I landed, but the board went flying forwad ( I didn't readjust my weight ), and I landed heavily on my wrists... Oh well.

Yeah, on your first attempts, it's hard...
The most recent bail I've had on a ramp was probably about a year ago when I was dropping in switch. I can do it, and have done it many times before, but I think I stuffed this one up by leaning back too far, and I landed on my tale bone and wrists again

Worst injury on a ramp for me was dropping back in from an 50-50, the ramp was a peice of sh!t with huge coping and as i twisted and lent forward the board just hung on the coping. So i flew down the 4foot transition on to the flat floor before landing heavily on my front. Oh, and it was a metal ramp No major injuries from that but the overall pain across my entire body was enough to stop skating for a week or so.

Whats the worst injury you've witnessed? I've seen someone slam on a handrail and they had to have their spleen removed afterwards

Would you look at that... Freewebs is down.

Yes, I am so evil and uncaring that I only came here to see if you were affected too. lol j/k. It'll take time to heal but it only toughens you after it gets better.

edit: Poof. Freewebs is back.
