As you know (Well alot of people will) Poser is a lovely 'little' (said sarcastically) program that can produce walking people (amongst other things) with the littlest of effort, and this is great if you want dummmy/test graphics, but here is my problem. I would like to have that brought over to Dark Basic Pro, a simple 24 frame walking person.

Has anybody ventured down this route yet? and/or Can I be pointed in the right direction? I am rubbish when it comes to graphics, hence the use of a tool to aid me in my way.

Regards.

i don't mean to sound rude but you've posted a few times on different threads with unhelpful answers, if you don't know the answer to someones question then you shouldn't post at all (unless you've had or got a similar problem).

It has been said to you b4, just because you have changed your name, I saw the user name b4 you changed it.

you have typed it in a way that a previous poster stated, but it still doesn't help me, nor anybody else who reads this post hoping for some answers.

I am unfamiliar with 'Poser' what type of files does it save? If they are a different format than those supported then you will need a converter where you will get one I have no clue. If it is supported and just not working are you sure that the object/animations were saved correctly? Sometimes that happens to me where you forget to save a piece of data and DBPro needs it to run. Good Luck...

Poser models are quite high in poly count there. Just one model alone can slow your program down.

Which version of poser are you using. I've written a BVH importer for DBC that constructs a skeleton from the joint positions and then plays the animations exported from Poser 3 or 4. There is a slight difference in the way the two version export bvh data so you have to adjust for it in DB. You can do custom models in poser but it can be a pain to set up. I think curious labs offers the advanced poser 3 manual as a pdf download.

The key is not how high-poly the characters are in poser, but the number of limbs in the model. If you set up a custom figure in poser that has the same proportions and number of limbs as your dark basic model you can animate in poser export the animations as bvh files. The models don't even have to look the same.

I think I have 4. Haven't used it for awhile. But that's pretty cool. Where's your BVH importer?

I have played with various versions of Poser, but I was looking to purchase Version 5, the only reason I want Poser, it is the only application, I am aware of, that can create Walking/Posing/Etc with great ease. If anybody else knows of another option for me, I will avoid buying it.
