I was wondering if anyone had any methods, tips, secrets for the "art" of gameplay storytelling. This would include in-game, text, voice overs, slideshow animation, etc etc.

Please explain your prefered method (in detail please) of conveying stories.

Never break the realism.

No cut scenes or menus.

No scenes, just action.

In-Engine cutscenes can look pretty cool. I guess you'd have a basic scripting thing to control the cutscenes.

Well, typically cut-scenes are only cool for certain types of games. Cut-scenes are good for Metal Gear games but not good for Super Mario games.
