How can you make the color black transparent in when you have textured it in 3dsmax?

You need to add a mask texture or something. It's been so long since I've done that, I can't remember exactly.

First off you need to be using a texture that has the alpha chanel enabled.....(Ie .tga format 32 bit color mode)

Secondly you will want to select the alpha test option in the shader tab in the material editor.(press the [M] key)

It is verry important that you use a texture that does have an alpha channel or the alpha test shader will be useless.
