Contrary to popular belief, doing the menu is a good way to start a project. I say this because then you can plan ahead for such things as.
1.) Getting your features down.
2.) An options page. This is the most important thing. If you want to build your game for more compatibility, an options page is a good place to start. This way you can build your game around options (such as shadows, different resolutions, shaders, etc.) and you won't stab yourself in the foot coming back to them later.
Personal preference I guess, but like RPG said, we need 5.3 to do some work.
