Do you think having a Flash site is better than having a non flash? or even haing both toghter?

I do notice that only business like Music, Pepsi,Cocacola have only Flash, you reckon that you should have a flash site if your hardly going to update it?

I dunno, I'm just woundering what you peeps think?

If you mean HOT, then ya. But if you mean good music (I have removed this part because it's very mean, here's a smiley instead: )

And yeah, a flash site's better.

It's amazing how much TV has raised us. (Bart Simpson)

I say no flash. If people want entertainment, they play a video game or watch a film - they don't load up a flash website. People want quick access and good navigation to the info/downloads/content they want. Bells and whistles are not important. You can spend days making a flash website, and most people will only slightly prefer it to a good looking HTML site.

I say, don't waste your time. Flash is only good for banners/ads/animations and showcase/media related websites. It shouldn't be used because you think it's cool. It's a tool and should be used when necessary, in my opinion.

Flash sites also take quite a bit of time to load. Just look at harrypotter.com that place is all flash and with a dial-up modem that takes at least 5-10 minutes to load.

How well do search engines work with flash?
Bit of a pain if you lose a lot of hits from search engines when you could have made a similar site without flash.

flash for what its worth actually delivers faster content for les bandwidth.

ITs usually the developers skill & time to create the site which makes it slow

A combination flash site with html i made was this one
www.crighton.com.au

If no-one gives your an answer to a question you have asked, consider:- Is your question clear.- Did you ask nicely.- Are you showing any effort to solve the problem yourself

Not true.

To much crap onscreen at a time can hurt you, but lot's of actual Flash presentations can't hurt.

I always use the KISS principal ( Keep It Simple, Stupid ).

It works amazingly well.

Oh, and Flash's compression is extremely good. As long as you use Vector graphics, and not Raster ( Bitmap ) then you should have a nice SMALL resulting file size.

I like flash quite alot. IMHO

Jess.

No flash for me, except for a special use like some clever ticker that's needed.

Two strings walk into a bar. I'll have a pint says the first$%ASLDJ09920D"$"$D. Excuse my friend says the second, he isn't null terminated.
