I've tried connecting to my brother's computer and my freinds computer, using programs that I know work. But I can't seem to hook up.

here is what I have: Road Runner cable is my internet connection, My computer and my brothers is through a router, I have a firewall (that I turned off during online testing), and I have a Windows XP

plese give me sugestions on what could be wrong, I'll give you more info if you ask.

You cant connect using the multiplayer commands in DBPro or you cant connect in general ?

make sure both computers are set to use dhcp from the router and that they can ping each other - that would be the first step after making sure the firewalls (like you said) aren't mucking it up.

when you post some more info we could help ya better.

Do you have a router or a firewall. Chances are you'll need to open up the direct play ports.

What happens is your router or firewall blocks out ports that the game information would be sent through for secruity purposes.

If its a DBPro problem, then it sounds like your not selecting the same connection protocol (should be TCP/IP and nothing else).
