im haveing troubles with a background that moves like the old breath of fires, final fantasys and zela. i have tried loads of things and non of them work. what kinda code do i need?

bitmap cos sprite backgrounds slow everything down completly

btw that code doesnt work uhless it is for DBP, function declaration has unknown paramater at line 73 or so it says

Sprites only slow things down if *you* don't switch off the backsave option for sprites.

Doing this means that you are responsible for replacing the background, but as you are probably doing that anyway ...

backsave....i assume thats DBP as i havent seen it b4 ima DBC user

nope its a DBC command too
the command is set sprite

syntax
set sprite [sprite number],[backsave],[transparency]

set the backsave to 0 to turn it off if you want more info look here
