This may not concern some of you here, since many use this board as a chat room...*ahem*

Anyway, GameDev is upgrading its site as we speak, and within 12 hours they'll have been around for 5 years.

http://www.gamedev.net/reference/list.asp?categoryid=76#118

Just thought I'd share for those of you who aren't regular visitors, for GameDev is (one of) the largest source for gaming knowledge. I'm rather excited about seeing what enhancements they're making.

Stay tuned.

Ditto, I also saw it. Lol, I'm so anxious, it's almost as exciting as when... actually, I can't think of anything. This is probably the most exciting thing in my life!

Lol, it's so funny when you refresh, there's always another 30 more visitors. Then again, it's probably people constantly refreshing like myself hoping that it's ready.

Saw that screen too. I don't see much difference though, I was assuming they would pimp out the site design and layout.

umh.. is that it?
I mean, the site has been due for total overhaul for years. Or something like that. They could have at least changed the outlay.

any visible change now is one more tiny ad when browsing forums. agh.

Yeah, me too. I'm extremely dissappointed. I was expecting a completely new layout, about all they've done is put a few side-menu's in and changed the forums a bit.

I have to admit though, it's about time they got their game showcase working so I'm quite happy about that.

I know I saw it somewhere earlier, but the FlipCode site is being re-done as well.

I really can't wait for their new site as they still have one of the best resources for us programmers, and it'll only get better.

See Flipcode.com for old site and FlipCode.org for new site.

Exeaxt i noticed the speed even on T1 at work; You'd load up and it'd take like upto 40s for the CGI script to access and load, now it's instant.

Well I noticed absolutely no difference at all, you must have a really crap ISP which most definately isn't T1. Especially as my old 28.8k didn't even take 40s with the CGI script. Are you sure you're not actually running a 2400 baud modem?
