I think the best thing you can do for yourself is look for free models(or pay) to download and use as a reference for your work.

The reasons there aren't many human tutorials is because they're very difficult, and it's just one of those things you learn to do after practice.

So practice hard, download a model, or give yourself a shot at this tutorial. (It's not milkshape, but if you know your tool well enough you'll be able to achieve similiar results. Then again, you might want to download GMax and give a go at it.)

Chris Hart has written a whole slew of books on how to draw anime and manga. While these are not 3D modelling and animation books, they are just chock full of style tips that will help. You can pick them up at most book stores or from the local library.

Yes and no. It has anime/cell shading materials, but these do not export to .X they are only good for rendering inside DoGA. That's fine for 2D sprites and cut scenes, but unusable for 3D models. There is also an extra set of parts available for humans and this includes a bunch of 2D eyes that are anime inspired.

I looked at a few of the tutorial pages and did not see any download links. Anyway, that model has way too many polygons to be usable for games. You should look on the web for Milkshape 3D character models for MODs and such. That would be a much more practical thing to learn. Afterall, anime is just a style and has nothing to do with the 3d editors and techniques that you need to learn to make characters.

You are quite welcome to try. Google is free and you can try many combinations of key words as well. Search engines are your basic tool for find models, textures, programs, tutorials, etc. Some of those resources are free, other are not. The only way to learn is by trying multiple searches.

You answer is buried in this forum, but the search engine here is not as powerful as Google's. Try using tutorial or milkshape as keywords.
