Hi. i'm looking for someone who is willing to tech me db. i've completed all the db tutorials that came with db1.06 (i got it 2nd hand for £7!) i just can't do the make a landscape for the dude to walk on in lesson 10.
if anyone can help me to program properly, like be available to email directly if i have problems and doing joint projects i'd be really grateful. see my problem is i'm too imaginative. all i think up is way to advanced.
can someone help? please?

really should be within the darkbasic forum...
when you run through the tutorials try to keep in mind, they're not to simply be copied and pasted they gradually gain in difficulty to help you out.

First thing to do is goto http://www.darkbasic.co.uk and download the 1.13 update ... install that and then run through the tutorials. Don't try to rush them try to figure out each section - perhaps even rewrite it in your own style of programming

Already did 1.13 upd

i went through the tuts really thouroughly and did all the 'things to doo' sections, i just had some dificulty with the matrix stuff.
in future i'll use magic world for my landscapes.
the reason i put it in 2d section is that i want someone to teach me db and a good place to start would be 2d rather than 3d as thats a bit more complicated.
as i said i'm too imaginative so what'd be really cool is if someone could give me some ideas for a really simple, yet playable, 2D game to post on my own website. ( www.macrosoft.v-2-1.net ).

thanks for the reply anyway.

Okay thanks. i still have no idea where to start with my programming though! i tend to just try to programm a run-in and give up after ten minutes!
But i do seriously want to get into programming and i think having a personal tutor would help loads!. So RPGgamer got any ideas for a first ever game?

Okay. thanks. i can do calculators and simple stuff like that but i haven't done anything that actually uses the mouse yet.
if i make a calculator it will consist of:
>>welcome to calculator! press 1 to add 2 to subtract and 3 to multiply!

do you get the picture? i'm a rubbish programmer!
so i need help with programming GUI software.
thanks

For the mouse, you should write a function for if the mouse is clicked in a box (using x, y and z coordinates) if its clicked in that area then do what you want.
