I searched the forums and nothing really...I need help with texturing now...I don't know how to unwrap a model properly so that I can draw my texture on it to uv map it onto my model...I'm new to max...and I just got the modelling down so now it's time for the texturing...any help please....

thats my model that needs a texture...i.e. I used 3d canvas once...and could texture in that but it is kinda hard and tedious...
any tutorials would help alot please....good ones...I just found crappy ones...

go to the modifier and add a unwrap uvw modifier to the selected object
click the edit button under parameters and print the screen into your image editing app
save the file as a bitmap
back in max select the object and then goto the material editor select a free / empty material, click the button next to diffuse
select bitmap in the window that open then find your file
back in the material editor select your bitmap then select show in map view port (under the materials) then hit assign material to selection (also under the materials) and you should be done

ive got max 6 so the commands might differ

**Flag slaps his head** so simple...thank you so much....
I want to ask something else as well...does anybody know about a plugin which allows you to use adobe photoshop (7 or higher i think) inside max..in order to paint(or draw) your texture while it's on your model...
I'm not sure which apps were used...but I read something on doom3 and final fantasy XII and they did this then baked there texture and applied it to the lower poly models...was this article fake or can it really be done?

the only way i know how to use max is by watching loads of buzz tutorials [href] www.3dbuzz.com [/href]

i dont think there is a direct one, nut there is a vertex paint modifier and there is a plugin called texporter, which you can download from [href] http://www.cuneytozdas.com/software/#texporter [/href], which might be useful to you
