I was looking at the demo of Cartography Shop and I really like the ease of which you can build levels (I know nothing about 3d modelling, but I was able to build some interesting structures). I was wondering if there was a free or cheaper alternative to Cartography Shop that will help me build levels using the geometric shapes (like in Cartography Shop). The only alternative I've been able to find in Maplet, which sells for only $25 but seems much more limited then Cartography Shop.

Sure, try DeleD (freeware) which was initially designed to create levels with. It's now converted to a more complete 3D modeller and its userbase is growing (30+ downloads a day right now). Visit http://www.delgine.com for more info and download.
