SkyBlaze Paul,
The reason that noone takes the Team Requests seriously has less to do which board they are posted on than the actual request themselves. Most of the requests come from people who do not have the required ability, experience, skill, to lead a team in the first place. Most have never finished any type of actual game by themselves to begin with. For the most part the requests follow this script:
Quote: "
- hmmm, I have a game idea that I think would be cool.
- Since I have no idea how to begin coding a game...
maybe, I'll start a team and ask people to write the code, design the graphics for me.
- Heck, I really don't understand how to write a design doc either, so I'll just tell them that the game is gonna be really cool, and post a fairly vague description (Of course with names of places, to make it look like I spent some time on a story line).
- And although I have no idea what the heck I'm doing, I'm sure if I gathered a whole bunch of people that have no idea of what they are doing, we can make a great game.
- Then we can all post in this thread, to make us feel like we are accomplishing something, and it will be cool to talk about a game that we have no idea how to start. But again, It'll be really cool.
- Now if only I can think of a good title for the company, that I can be President over. It'll be like our secret club-house."
That's why most request get a chuckle and a laugh. Noone with any serious excperience or talent would join a group like this. They have been down the road many times before and can smell a phony request like last years trash.
I'm not saying that you fall into this category, but I do believe you are posting the request ahead of schedule. It's was a good idea to set up your site and remove the need for a newsletter subscription, but at this time there really isn't any solid information on your site. Spend some time getting your info together and THEN post a request.
