Yes. Though I would recommend reading some of the 2D tutorials to get you started. It will help you to avoid some of the sublteties and nuances of 2d in DBpro. I'm currently working on a tutorial to cover platformers, sidescrollers, top-down tile-based, and the tools that go into them such as mapmakers, sprite animation viewers.
