Ah,

I thought I could make nice water that way!! Dangit....

Sure I am not the first to think of that, or ask that question.

Tried using a modified MESH memblock and textured it that way?

Actually i think you are, probably not think it, but the first i know to ask.
You'll have to make a matrix out of a memblock/object to be able to use one, the code search for memblock matrix and you'll find a link to Kevil's Memblock maker, should help.

I keep meaning to make a direct dll version, cause a plane which you can use as a memblock would be helpful as sin. (for the tgc guys we're talking like 20, 30 minutes of work tops to add a matrix as an object, god knows why it still isn't)

Wow, that would be helpful, make a matrix an object and bingo you've got all the functionality of objects.

I tried searchin "memblock matrix" and I couldn't find what you were talking about, could you point me to the matrix maker. I would like a dynamically updating matrix, that has reflection shading on.

I just wanted to show what I have been doing. This is modified code from the Advanced terrain example 1. It is nothing very clever, but I placed a plane in the scene and set relection shading on for it, and I have to say it looks damn good! Now if we could only make it ripple!!!? To excecute the code just run it in the same directory as the example 1 file. There a few extraneous bits of code and stuff that doesn't work yet, but you'll see what I mean.

Edit: That's cool, I can see the terrain popping in and out when it is out of the camera field of view but still the relection is still in the field of view. It's not too bad an effect, proves that the terrain engine is doing it's job!! Haha.
