This is just to let everyone know that I will be away from 14th July to 1st August (and possibly the week following that).

I'm off to the Yukon in Canada for hiking, canoeing and of course bears

As a result of this, I have taken BlueGUI off-the-shelf until August 2nd. Sadly in the past despite a large notice in red on the order page explaining that I am on holiday, people still ignore it. So the safest option is not to make it available until I get back.

When I do return, there will be version 2 to look forward to, and I'll be posting trial versions and demos shortly after.

If/when I return, I'll deal with any emails then. I leave 9:30AM on Wednesday, wish me the best of luck

If you see a real wild grizzly can you chuck a rock at it. I'm just curious to know what happens.

You don't have to go north of the 60th parralel to do all these you know.

The Yukon's a nice place,I worked there a few months last year and got to make a very cool initiation Amerindian rite, smoking sweet grass(indian tobacco)with them...Left me in a hot tent for hours with only a bowl of berries and a prayer to recite, when the time came,I took a look outside and saw a gigantic deer right in front of me,they decided my nickname from this...Like anyone who takes the test get his from the animal that almost inevitably crosses your path...I was amazed!(they called me Bigger Deer)

Hope I don't get shot in the season tho

good trip.

Keep the shaving blades away if you go there...

Yukon is one of the places that are worth visiting in Canada...Along with BC and Qc.

Well one reason could be that he was not the one who decided that.

Cool! Do you know whereabouts in Vancouver? I guess you'll be flying into Vancouver International Airport--- are you taking a train up north or driving?

Have you been here before?

Rob ---- Ahh, so you won't be doing any sightseeing in B.C., just an airport stop. Cool, well it's a nice airport--- has had a huge chunk just rebuilt with native art, sculptures, and cool architecture (our tax dollars at work).

@Jeku: you forgot Mosquitos, severe heat and ME. Sorry for offending you. Anyway, you shouldn't go to manitoba, infact I'd advise against it. Go to Québec(They have a better music).

Welcome back Rob! I see you went to meet bears. I thoroughly applaud such a reasonable sentiment. Did you see my Uncle Oscar whilst you were there? He can be a bit grizzly at times and the temperature of his cave is practically polar but otherwise he's great company... and a truly accomplished fisher,er,bear as well.

Philip

We saw a small family of bears whilst white water rafting, a fair few Bald Eagles and the odd Caribou (amongst others). I wouldn't want to mess with mama bear though

Found a few Caribou antlers lying around on the Tombstone Tundra, brought one back as well

I brought myself an electric hand-held mozzie-zapper in Dawson City, an extremely satisfying way of dealing with the little buggers (the Jungle insect repellant was reasonably effective though).

Yes, beautiful. Wooden sculptures, a waterfall and brightly coloured - Heathrow is a complete dump in comparison, albeit a very busy dump.

You obviously havn't been to Manitoba, here you don't need a hand held zapper, to do that kinda thing, you need a flamethrower.
