if i put the camera like this:

position camera 0,0,-20

so thats in the middle but 20 to the user, how big is my screen then? so if i want to make an object box to cover from button to top does the y parametre have to be 20 then? and if i place 20 boxes of 1 big next to eacht other over the x axis does that cover the screen from left to right?

If you want a cube that will cover the entire screen you could just move it very close to the camera, I'm not to sure what your really asking, add a little more detail to your question if this isn't what you wanted.

i was thinking of making a breakout kinda game, so therefore i should make several box objects (paddle and breakable ones) so now i wonna know how many objects of x value 1 can i place on the screen if i put the camera on z value -20.
in any case next week i should have time to look after it myself, but well it can't hurt to ask around

Look in the codebase for HUDs. there is a snippet somewhere that shows you how to use 3D objects as a HUD, and get the proportions correct. You can apply the very simple formula to your blocks to size them to suit your screen.

It might also be in the code snippets downloads. There is a DBprosnippets zip file, but I'm not sure if that's the one...

Alright! In some of my games, I used objects as HUDS. Since I only have classic, I cannot use transparent sprites. What you do is load an image, create a plain, and texture it with that image. Now you set it transparent, position it, and lock it to the screen.
