What's the highest total polygon count DarkBASIC can handle before things start getting slow?

It depends on your system and your definition of slow... On a system that only meets the minimum requirements, I would guess that it would start slowing somewhere around 15k polygons displayed on screen... That is a rough estimate however... More powerful machines can handle more... DBP can handle much much more...

Well... I hope I helped anyways...

The computer isn't an addiction, its more of a mental and social dependancy.

Why would you use a 13k poly alien? Can't you shrink that down a bit? Most games don't have anything over 6k polys last I knew. If you have about 4 of those aliens on screen at once, you may start seeing slow down depending on your hardware and if you are using Classic or Pro.

You have entered a new world now, can you handle it?

I'm probably not gonna use this model in the end actually. It's too hard to look at the mesh.

Lets say your polygon limit is 15,000. With your 13,000 poly alien, you only get 2,000 polys for all the other characters, scenergy, terrain, and special effects on screen. And that doesn't even take into account the coding you have to do for AI and stuff...

Don't even think about using a 13,000 poly character.
