Hey everyone,
Had some spare time last night, so I was messing around in Photoshop. This is what I came up with (for a black and white version see my earlier post about concept drawing).
Not too bad for half an hours play, though there some things yet to do on it. If anyone knows how to texture jeans/denim well could you please tell me, this was the best I could do. A tablet mouse would've helped to no end on this but I haven't got the money or the time to go and buy one.

If the image below doesn't work for you try this link:

Otherwise just go through my site to the CGI section.
Enjoy!
Sina.

Did you try playing with the Denim pattern in PS

Thanks for replying so quickly.
There's a denim pattern in PS? Hmm, maybe it's in a newer version then mine (Photoshop 5.0). Well I'll look around for a plug-in on the net, but I'm pretty sure 5.0 doesn't come with one. Should've told what version I had in the first post, ah well.
Thanks again,
Sina.

It's very nice!
Nothing to say about the jeans TEXTURE wise, but you could try using the burn tool or a darker brush to shade areas, to make it look less flat. That goes for the whole figure
Your drawing skills are far better than mine, but, either the legs are two long or the women is too short on the upper half

It's probably the legs, and maybe a bit of distortion from scanning. I had to scan it in at a way higher resolution since its in pencil, and then bring the dimensions down. Still that's a minimal issue. Yeah I'll work a little more at my shading skills. Thanks though.

I think if you want to progress further its time to buy that book on anatomy. I remember buying my first anatomy book, my face was cherry red.

Heh, that's actually a good idea. But my brother's a medical student, so I'll just raid his book shelf one day see what I can dig out from those (I'd probably get a lot of pictures of what people aren't supposed to look like). I hadn't even thought about that until now though. Thanks for the tip.
Also, I found a nice little PS tutorial page:

A long but worthy url. Hope that helps others in my position and keep those comments coming.

might seem like an odd suggestion ... but grab yourself a porn mag

just as good for anatomy - usually what tends to be used when creating CG women as the lighting in them has been setup to accentuate the figures, helps with depth

Heh, unfortunately they don't sell porn mags to people my age. Damn conservationalists in government you see, no freedom (pfft this coming from an adolescent seems pretty sterotypical). Nice suggestion though.

Yeah the sword requires a little more shadow at least to separate it from the rest of the body.
Hehe, well most of links search engines come up with are probably just blind links that keep calling pop up (and thos damn annoying pop under) windows. Then my email starts getting spammed by like 700 new messages a day encouraging me to sign for all these vredit cards I've never heard of and start gambling over the internet. But hey some peopl gotta make a living.
Sina.
PS: I've whipped up a new image, check the Beast In Progress thread if you're interested.

Yeah I never understood the biggy - if you are old enough to do it, surely you should be able to watch it... research an all

Arrrggggh I HATE spam porn - Where does it come from??? I haven't searched for porn on the actual net since I was 16! (I gave up because of pop-ups, spam and credit card requests from "free" sites! ...If u really want porn download a few vids off Kazaa - The Mrs and I sometimes do if we're feeling a lil alternative Not too often tho by the time they've downloaded the moments gone lol

lmao! Hmm, well worded Kangaroo2
Kazaa is a good way of going about it, very discreet, though I use kazaalite. No spyware and whatnot. Unfortunately Kazaa isn't too kind to people who don't have cable internet connections, so my 56k starts to die after a few seconds (my average speed is around 0.20kb/s).
Cheers.
